Over the past decade, gorilla tracking has risen to become one of the top 5 adventure activities in Africa, attracting nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts from around the globe. At Go Gorilla Tracking, we specialize in creating once-in-a-lifetime journeys into the wild, where you can come face-to-face with mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
Our expertly crafted tours take you deep into the Virunga region, covering top gorilla trekking destinations such as Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, Volcanoes National Park (PNV) in Rwanda, and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Each trip is thoughtfully designed to suit a variety of travel styles and budgets, but if you have something different in mind, we’re happy to create a custom gorilla safari tailored just for you.
Visit Uganda – the Pearl of Africa, and immerse yourself in a breathtaking jungle adventure. You can also combine your gorilla trekking tour with other incredible activities such as game drives, chimpanzee tracking, birding safaris, or cultural experiences for a complete African holiday.
To track the endangered mountain gorillas, every visitor must have a valid gorilla permit. These permits are highly sought-after and are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to their limited availability, we recommend booking your permit at least 10 months in advance for peak seasons (June–September & December–February), or 4–6 months ahead for the low seasons (March–May & October–November).
Uganda offers the highest availability with 144 daily permits across 18 habituated gorilla families. Rwanda provides 96 permits daily from its 12 habituated groups, while Congo’s Virunga National Park offers 32 permits per day
Whether you’re planning ahead or looking for a last-minute gorilla trekking tour, contact Go Gorilla Tracking for up-to-date permit availability and professional trip planning. Let us turn your dream of seeing mountain gorillas in the wild into a reality with a safe, memorable, and truly life-changing experience.
