Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi, Uganda
Your safari begins with your arrival in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. After a warm welcome from your driver-guide and a short briefing, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to southwestern Uganda, crossing through picturesque countryside, rolling hills, and rural villages. En route, enjoy a stop at the Rwanda-Uganda border for immigration formalities before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your forest lodge nestled in the foothills of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the evening relaxing as you prepare for your gorilla tracking experience.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Rise early for the highlight of your safari—gorilla tracking in Bwindi. After a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, you’ll venture deep into the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on their location, but the reward is extraordinary. Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
