11 Days Botswana Safari & Gorilla Trekking Uganda Itinenary

 Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Chobe National Park, Botswana

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to Chobe National Park, one of Botswana’s premier wildlife destinations. Famous for hosting one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, Chobe offers outstanding game viewing throughout the year.

After checking into your lodge, take time to relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an optional sunset boat cruise along the Chobe River, where elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife gather at the water’s edge.

Day 2: Exploring the Okavango Delta – A UNESCO World Heritage Site

Today you travel to the world-renowned Okavango Delta, a unique inland delta and one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. This pristine ecosystem is a haven for wildlife, attracting large numbers of animals due to its permanent water sources.

  • Road transfer: Approximately 9–11 hours, offering scenic views of rural Uganda

  • Domestic flight: Approximately 2–3 hours, saving time and enhancing comfort

Upon arrival, check into your lodge surrounded by mist-covered forests and rich biodiversity.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Today marks one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in the world—mountain gorilla trekking. After an early briefing by park rangers, you will trek through dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Once located, you will spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. This emotional and powerful encounter is often described as a life-changing experience.

Day 10: Transfer to Rwanda – Dian Fossey Legacy & Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, depart Uganda and journey into Rwanda, famously known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.” Enjoy scenic landscapes of rolling hills and rural villages as you cross the border. Upon arrival, visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Museum, where you will gain meaningful insight into the life and conservation legacy of Dian Fossey and her groundbreaking work protecting endangered mountain gorillas.
