Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Welcome to Kenya

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you’ll be met by a safari representative and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, optional activities include visiting the Giraffe Centre or the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Enjoy dinner and a briefing about the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Into the Wild

After breakfast, depart for the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, a 5–6 hour drive through Kenya’s scenic Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The Mara is Kenya’s crown jewel, offering dramatic landscapes and a high concentration of wildlife. You may spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, and if lucky, one of the big cats. Settle in at your lodge or tented camp and fall asleep to the sounds of the African night.

Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara – Safari Bliss

Today is dedicated to exploring the Masai Mara. With both morning and afternoon game drives, you’ll cover different parts of the reserve, increasing your chances of witnessing predator action or a herd of wildebeest crossing the Mara River (especially between July and October). Visit a local Maasai village to learn about their traditional culture, warrior lifestyle, and colorful ceremonies. In the evening, unwind with a sundowner and share safari stories around the campfire.

Day 4: Fly to Entebbe, Uganda – Cross-Country Connection

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before transferring to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi, followed by a connecting flight to Entebbe, Uganda. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your Ugandan guide and transferred to your lodge or hotel for an overnight stay. Entebbe, set on the shores of Lake Victoria, offers a peaceful stopover before heading into the heart of Uganda’s wilderness.

Day 5: Fly to Bwindi – Into Gorilla Country

In the morning, board a scenic domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey reveals breathtaking views of Uganda’s mountainous southwest, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” After landing at either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, drive to your forest lodge, surrounded by thick jungle and exotic birdcalls. The rest of the day is at leisure—prepare for the gorilla trek ahead or enjoy a nature walk or visit to a local community.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – A Humbling Encounter

Today is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, you’ll receive a briefing from park rangers and begin your gorilla trekking expedition. The trek, which can last from 2 to 6 hours, leads through dense forest trails in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once found, you’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour watching them eat, groom, play, and interact—an unforgettable wildlife experience. Return to your lodge for a hot shower and relaxing evening.

Day 7: Bwindi to Entebbe – Scenic Return Journey

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Upon arrival, check into a day-use hotel or explore Entebbe town—perhaps take a stroll at the botanical gardens or enjoy fresh fish at a lakeside restaurant. Reflect on the incredible contrast between the savannahs of Kenya and the jungles of Uganda as you prepare for your departure the next day.

Day 8: Departure – Farewell Africa

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy breakfast and some last-minute souvenir shopping before transferring to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight. Your Kenya–Uganda safari ends, but the memories of Africa’s majestic wildlife and landscapes will last a lifetime.
