Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to the Pearl of Africa

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your safari guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore Entebbe’s laid-back attractions like the Botanical Gardens, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, or enjoy a peaceful lakeside walk along Lake Victoria.

Day 2: Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Into the Wild

Depart early for Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most biodiverse savannah reserve. The scenic drive takes you through lush countryside, tea plantations, and traditional villages. Arrive in time for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you might encounter elephants, lions, warthogs, and more.

Day 3: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Start your day with a sunrise game drive to spot predators and grazing herbivores in action. The Kasenyi sector is ideal for lion sightings, especially near the kob breeding grounds.

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This channel is famous for its high concentration of hippos, basking crocodiles, and a diverse range of birdlife. Herds of elephants often come down to drink, creating incredible photo opportunities.

Day 4: Cultural Tour and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today you’ll begin with a cultural visit en route to Bwindi. Stop at a local community project or village to interact with Ugandans in their day-to-day lives. Learn traditional cooking, banana beer brewing, or visit a local school or health clinic to understand life in rural Uganda.

In the afternoon, arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Settle into your lodge nestled in the forested hills and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking – Face to Face with Giants

Rise early for a briefing from park rangers before venturing into the dense forest on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek. The trek may take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you’ll have a magical hour to observe the gorillas in their natural habitat — feeding, playing, resting, and caring for their young.

Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a storytelling session around a campfire or a traditional dance performance by a local group.

Day 6: Batwa Community Visit – Echoes of the Forest

Spend the morning with the Batwa, an indigenous forest-dwelling community who once lived in harmony with the gorillas. Through guided walks and interactive storytelling, learn about their traditional hunting techniques, medicinal plants, and spiritual connection to the forest. This experience offers a deeper understanding of conservation and its impact on indigenous cultures.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed walk in the community or birdwatch in the lodge’s surroundings.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe – Farewell Uganda

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe. Depending on time, stop for lunch and craft shopping along the way, where you can purchase souvenirs made by local artisans. You may catch a flight back home in the evening or stay overnight in Entebbe for your departure the next day.
