3-Day Fly-In Masai Mara Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to the Mara & Afternoon Game Drive
Your safari adventure begins with a scenic scheduled flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. As you soar over the Great Rift Valley and patchwork plains, the aerial views alone are worth the trip. Upon landing at an airstrip near your camp or lodge, you’re welcomed by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in the heart of the reserve.
After settling in and enjoying a delicious lunch, you’ll embark on your first game drive in the late afternoon. The Masai Mara is teeming with wildlife year-round, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and large prides of lions. With a bit of luck, you may even spot a cheetah on the hunt or a leopard lounging in a tree. Return to camp for sundowners and a hearty dinner under the stars
Day 2: Full-Day Safari Adventure
Awake to the sounds of the African bush and set out early for a full-day safari with picnic breakfast or lunch. This extended game drive gives you the chance to explore deeper into the reserve, crossing golden plains, riverine forests, and rolling hills in search of the Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino.
Depending on the time of year, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration (typically July–October), as thousands of animals thunder across the plains and attempt dramatic river crossings, stalked by crocodiles and predators.
