Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park | Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Top of the Falls

Your driver-guide will pick you up early in the morning and brief you about your upcoming adventure before setting off for Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest park.

En route, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can see wild rhinos. Learn about rhino conservation and enjoy an up-close encounter with these majestic animals. After lunch in Masindi town, proceed to the park and visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging 45 meters below — a truly awe-inspiring sight.

Day 2: Murchison Falls – Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through the savannah plains in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, and various antelope species. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile River, where you’ll encounter hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an incredible diversity of birds. The cruise ends at the base of the falls, offering spectacular photographic opportunities.

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest | Bigodi Wetlands Visit

After breakfast, drive to Fort Portal, a picturesque town nestled at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Enjoy lunch in town, then continue to your lodge near Kibale Forest National Park.

Later, take a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, known for its rich biodiversity including monkeys, birds, and butterflies. Visit the local women’s community project and learn about rural life and conservation efforts.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. This natural waterway hosts one of the world’s highest concentrations of hippos and offers excellent birdwatching and wildlife photography opportunities.

Day 6: Maramagambo Forest Walk & Kyambura Gorge Exploration

In the afternoon, visit the Kyambura Gorge, a lush underground forest created by ancient tectonic activity. Track chimpanzees and explore the gorge’s rich ecosystem filled with birds, monkeys, and occasional elephants.

Day 7: Ishasha Game Drive – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 8: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

This is the highlight of your safari — gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After an early breakfast and briefing, set off into the misty forest with expert rangers to find one of the habituated gorilla families. Trekking can take from 30 minutes to 6 hours, but the reward is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with these gentle giants.

In the afternoon, visit the Batwa Pygmy community to learn about their ancient hunter-gatherer traditions, music, and dances.

Day 9: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park | Afternoon Boat Cruise

After breakfast, drive through Uganda’s scenic highlands, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” Stop in Mbarara for lunch before continuing to Lake Mburo National Park, a gem of rolling hills and acacia woodlands.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, spotting hippos, crocodiles, zebras, and water birds along the shores.

Day 10: Lake Mburo – Game Drive | Return to Kampala or Entebbe

Later, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, stopping at the Uganda Equator for lunch, photos, and souvenir shopping. If time allows, visit the Buganda Royal Drum Makers to witness traditional drum crafting.
