Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, you’ll be met by a local guide and transferred either by road or a short domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. The drive, while long, is incredibly scenic—passing rolling hills, banana plantations, and local villages.

Check into a budget lodge nestled near the forest and prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing. You’ll then set off with experienced rangers into the dense jungle in search of a gorilla family. Trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorilla movements. Once found, you’ll be allowed a magical hour to quietly observe and photograph the gorillas in their natural habitat—an unforgettable and deeply moving wildlife encounter.

Later, return to your lodge for relaxation and an optional visit to a local Batwa (pygmy) community to learn about indigenous forest culture.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali, Rwanda – Fly to Nairobi, Kenya

Leave Bwindi early in the morning and drive across the border into Rwanda for a scenic journey to Kigali. You’ll get a brief city tour or lunch stop (time permitting) before catching a flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

On arrival in Nairobi, transfer to a budget hotel or guesthouse and rest up for your next wildlife experience.

Day 4: Nairobi – Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, begin your journey to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s flagship national reserve. The 5–6 hour drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley, providing spectacular photo opportunities. Arrive at your safari camp or lodge in time for lunch.

In the late afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the Masai Mara. The golden grasslands are teeming with wildlife including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

Today is a full-day safari with a packed lunch in the bush. Explore deeper into the Masai Mara ecosystem, known for its high concentration of big cats and its role in the Great Migration. Depending on the time of year (July to October), you may witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River, dodging crocodiles and predators in a spectacular survival drama.

Spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) and enjoy up-close views of other savannah dwellers such as hyenas, warthogs, and antelope.

Day 6: Optional Balloon Safari – Cultural Visit

Start the day with an optional hot air balloon safari at dawn (extra cost), offering stunning aerial views of the sunrise and wildlife below, followed by a champagne bush breakfast.

Later in the day, visit a local Maasai village to experience the traditional life, dance, and customs of this proud warrior tribe. Your final evening in the Mara ends with a sunset over the plains.

Day 7: Return to Nairobi – Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a final short morning game drive en route out of the park. Arrive back in Nairobi in the afternoon where you may have time for a quick visit to the local markets or museums before heading to the airport for your onward flight
