Your adventure begins in Entebbe, Uganda’s charming lakeside city. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax after your journey or explore local sights such as the Botanical Gardens or Lake Victoria shores.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale Forest – Home of Chimpanzees

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, known as the “Primate Capital of the World.” The drive takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, with views of tea plantations and rolling hills. Arrive in the afternoon and settle into your lodge near the park.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

In the morning, set out into Kibale’s lush rainforest in search of wild chimpanzees. With over 1,500 chimpanzees in the park, chances of sighting them are high. Listen to their calls echoing through the forest before catching sight of these intelligent creatures as they swing through the canopy or forage on the forest floor.

After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This community-run project is a haven for birds, monkeys, and rare plant species.

Accommodation: Primate Lodge

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Safari Begins

Today you’ll head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse ecosystems. The drive descends from the highlands into the savannah plains. On arrival, enjoy an evening game drive in the Kasenyi sector where you may spot elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and perhaps a lion stalking prey in the grass.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel

Rise early for a morning game drive to catch predators before they retreat from the sun. Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, hyenas, and a variety of antelopes.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This waterway is teeming with wildlife: see hippos lounging in the water, crocodiles sunbathing on the banks, and elephants coming down to drink. The birdlife is extraordinary—expect to spot fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, and storks.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Meet the Gorillas

After breakfast, journey south to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. The landscape transitions to misty mountains and dense jungle, setting the stage for the next day’s unforgettable encounter.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience

Today is the highlight of your safari. With an experienced ranger, trek through dense vegetation and steep terrain in search of a gorilla family. Once found, you’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour observing them up close—watching a silverback keep watch, juveniles play, or mothers cradle their infants. This intimate wildlife experience is both humbling and magical.

After the trek, return to your lodge to freshen up before transferring back to Entebbe by road or domestic flight (depending on your itinerary).
