Day 1: Arrival in Arusha, Tanzania

Your African adventure begins in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. After your arrival, you’ll be transferred to your lodge where you can rest, enjoy the surrounding scenery, and prepare for the days ahead. If time allows, a brief tour of Arusha town or a visit to a local market can offer an enriching cultural introduction.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Excursion

Depart early for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the crater floor for a full-day game drive in one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife habitats. Here, you may spot black rhinos, lions, elephants, and large flocks of flamingos. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, ascend the crater rim and head to your overnight lodge, perched with panoramic views of this natural amphitheater.

Day 3–4: Serengeti National Park

Continue your journey to Serengeti National Park, famed for its endless plains and the annual wildebeest migration. Over two days, explore the park on multiple game drives. Depending on the season, you may witness river crossings, dramatic predator-prey interactions, or herds of wildebeest and zebra stretching as far as the eye can see. Expect to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and possibly leopards lounging in the trees. In the evenings, return to your tented camp to enjoy bush dinners under the stars.

Day 5: Flight to Uganda & Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, catch a regional flight to Entebbe, Uganda, followed by a scenic domestic flight or drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda. This mountainous rainforest is home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. You’ll settle into your eco-lodge nestled at the edge of the forest and receive a briefing on the gorilla trekking experience scheduled for the next day.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is the crown jewel of your safari. After an early breakfast and a briefing by park rangers, you’ll begin your guided trek into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can last anywhere from 1 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, but the reward is priceless—a magical hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Watch them feed, groom, and interact in an experience that is both humbling and exhilarating. Return to the lodge to relax and reflect.

Day 7: Cultural Experience or Optional Chimpanzee Trek

On your final full day in Uganda, you have options. Visit the nearby Batwa community to learn about their forest-based culture and traditions, or embark on an optional chimpanzee tracking excursion in nearby Kibale Forest or Kalinzu. Both offer unique insights into the primate world and provide excellent photography opportunities.

Day 8: Departure from Entebbe

After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Entebbe for your international departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to explore Entebbe Botanical Gardens or visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center.
