Here, the Equator crosses Uganda, offering a unique opportunity to stand with one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors can engage in the famous water experiment, demonstrating the Coriolis effect, where water drains in opposite directions on either side of the Equator. Local guides often perform an egg-balancing demonstration, showcasing the precision of standing directly on the Equator line .

The area is vibrant with craft markets selling handmade goods such as wooden carvings, beaded jewelry, and traditional textiles. Local eateries offer Ugandan delicacies like the popular “Rolex” (a chapati filled with eggs and vegetables) and other regional dishes, providing a taste of local cuisine.
