Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Your journey begins in Rwanda’s clean, safe, and modern capital, Kigali. After landing at Kigali International Airport, settle into your hotel and unwind. Depending on your arrival time, take a short city tour to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial—a powerful tribute to Rwanda’s resilience and a must-see for understanding the country’s history.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Akagera National Park
Spend your morning exploring local art galleries, markets like Kimironko, and the lively Nyamirambo neighborhood. In the afternoon, drive east to Akagera National Park (approx. 2.5 hours). The landscape shifts from cityscape to savannah, setting the stage for a classic African safari experience.

Day 3: Safari in Akagera National Park
Akagera offers a full-day safari with opportunities to see elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, and more. Game drives through open plains and lakeshores give you a chance to experience Rwanda’s lesser-known but stunning Big Five territory. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Ihema in the afternoon for hippo and crocodile sightings.

Day 4: Return to Kigali and Drive to Musanze
After breakfast, head back to Kigali, then continue north to Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri), the gateway to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 2 hours). Nestled among the Virunga Mountains, Musanze offers breathtaking scenery. Spend the evening relaxing or visiting the nearby Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for a taste of Rwandan traditions.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
This is the highlight of your Rwandan adventure. After an early morning briefing, set off into the misty rainforest for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: trekking to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Trek times vary, but the reward of coming face-to-face with a gorilla family is unforgettable.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Trek or Dian Fossey Hike
Opt for another forest adventure by trekking to see the playful golden monkeys or take a more challenging hike to the Dian Fossey tomb, nestled between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke. The hike also offers a glimpse into the work of the famed primatologist who fought to protect Rwanda’s gorillas.

Day 7: Lake Kivu (Gisenyi) 
Drive west to Lake Kivu’s shores in Gisenyi, a scenic resort town (about 1.5 hours from Musanze). Enjoy a relaxed day swimming, kayaking, or taking a boat ride to nearby islands  The peaceful atmosphere is perfect for unwinding after several active days.

Day 8:  Coffee Tour & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest the Home of chimpanzees 

This morning, Visit a local coffee plantation to learn about Rwanda’s acclaimed coffee-making process from bean to cup Nyungwe forest national park via Kigali. We shall stopover in Huye for lunch and a visit to the national museum to learn more about the history and traditions of the Rwanda people. We arrive in Nyungwe forest later in the evening..
