Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Your adventure begins with your arrival in Kigali, Rwanda’s bustling and welcoming capital. After being met by your guide at the airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a guided city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, and cultural centers. This is a great introduction to Rwanda’s rich history and resilience. Overnight in Kigali.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Cultural Village Visit

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. This journey through the Land of a Thousand Hills offers stunning vistas of terraced landscapes and distant volcanoes.

Upon arrival and check-in at your lodge, you’ll spend the afternoon on a cultural visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll meet former poachers who now serve as conservation educators. Enjoy traditional dance, storytelling, and demonstrations of local crafts. Overnight near Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Today is the highlight for many—gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After a ranger briefing, you’ll trek through bamboo forests and steep hills in search of one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. The trek can take 1 to 6 hours, but every step is worth it.

Once the gorillas are located, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour with them—observing behaviors, listening to their vocalizations, and locking eyes with a silverback. It’s an emotional and humbling wildlife encounter. After the trek, return to the lodge for a hot meal and well-deserved rest.

Day 4: Fly to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

In the morning, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Seronera Airstrip in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park (with possible stopovers in Arusha or Kilimanjaro). Upon landing, you’ll be met by a safari guide and embark on your first game drive en route to your lodge or tented camp.

The Serengeti is vast and teeming with wildlife—elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests roam freely across the golden plains. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling in for the night under the African sky.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s central region, known for its large predator population and the year-round presence of the Big Five. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration—one of the planet’s most dramatic wildlife spectacles, involving over a million animals.

Your experienced guide will track lions lounging in the shade, leopards in acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the plains, and massive elephant herds moving gracefully through the bush. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before returning to camp in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Sunrise Safari & Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride

Start the day with an early morning game drive—the best time to catch predators in action. Alternatively, opt for a sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti (additional cost), followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush.

Later, visit the Seronera River Valley, a reliable water source that attracts abundant wildlife year-round. Spend the rest of the day tracking wildlife, photographing landscapes, and soaking up the sounds and scents of the wild. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 7: Departure via Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive en route to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport. Depending on your international flight time, you may have a stopover in Arusha for shopping or a leisurely lunch.
