Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to the Pearl of Africa

Your adventure begins in Entebbe, where you’ll be met by your safari guide upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. After a warm welcome and safari briefing, you’ll transfer to a comfortable hotel or guesthouse such as 2 Friends Beach Hotel or The Boma Entebbe.

Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the hotel, enjoy a walk along Lake Victoria, or visit the Entebbe Botanical Gardens. In the evening, enjoy dinner as you prepare for the week ahead.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Viewing Begins

After breakfast, set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, a scenic drive of about 6–7 hours through rolling hills, banana plantations, and rural villages. You’ll arrive at your lodge—such as Elephant Plains Lodge or Enganzi Game Lodge—in time for lunch or a brief rest.

In the late afternoon, embark on your first game drive, where you may encounter elephants, buffalo, warthogs, and various antelope species as the sun sets over the savannah. Return to your lodge for a hearty dinner and a restful night under the African stars.

Day 3: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Start your day with a morning game drive through the Kasenyi Plains, a prime area for spotting lions, Uganda kob, and large herds of elephants. With luck, you may also see leopards lounging in the trees or hyenas on the move.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometer natural waterway connecting Lakes George and Edward. This experience is a highlight of any Ugandan safari, offering close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, and a dazzling variety of birds like African fish eagles, kingfishers, and pelicans.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kalinzu Forest – Transfer to Ishasha Sector

After an early breakfast, head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure. Led by experienced rangers, you’ll venture into the forest to locate a habituated chimp family. Along the way, enjoy sightings of other primates, birds, and forest flora.

After the trek, continue your journey to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. Arrive at a lodge like Ishasha Jungle Lodge or Topi Lodge, and if time allows, head out for an evening game drive in search of these elusive cats.

Day 5: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Into Gorilla Country

This morning, enjoy a game drive through Ishasha as you make your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive offers scenic views of terraced hills, forests, and vibrant rural communities.

Arrive at your lodge—such as Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, Mahogany Springs, or Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge—nestled on the edge of the forest. Spend the afternoon relaxing, enjoying the cool mountain air, and preparing for the thrilling day ahead.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking – A Life-Changing Encounter

Today is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the forest with your guide and trackers. Trekking can take from 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Once you find them, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas up close. Witness a silverback’s commanding presence, playful juveniles, and tender interactions between mothers and infants. It’s a truly moving experience.

Return to your lodge for lunch and some well-deserved relaxation. Spend the evening at leisure, sharing stories around the fireplace or enjoying a traditional Ugandan meal.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe – Farewell Uganda

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe. You can either drive (8–9 hours with scenic stops along the way) or opt for a domestic flight (at additional cost) for a faster return. Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a farewell dinner or visit a local craft market before heading to the airport for your international flight
