6 Days Bwindi- Murchison Fly in Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Bwindi

Your journey begins with a scenic domestic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi or Kisoro, depending on your lodge’s location in Bwindi. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you to your forest lodge nestled on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with views of the forest, followed by a delicious dinner and a briefing on the gorilla trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is the highlight of your safari: tracking mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing, then set off with experienced guides and rangers into the dense jungle. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is unforgettable—an hour spent observing a gorilla family up close as they eat, groom, and play. Return to the lodge for lunch, rest, or an optional community walk to meet the local Batwa people.

Day 3: Forest Walk and Leisure

After the excitement of gorilla trekking, enjoy a guided nature walk through the forest or take part in a cultural experience in a nearby village. Alternatively, relax at the lodge and take in the tranquil surroundings. Bwindi is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, home to over 350 bird species including 23 Albertine Rift endemics

Day 4: Flight to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. Upon landing, enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge, where you might spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and antelopes. In the evening, relax by the Nile River and listen to the sounds of the wild as you dine under the stars.

Day 5: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari

Start the day with a sunrise game drive across the savannahs of the northern sector, known for its lion and leopard sightings. After lunch, embark on a boat safari along the Nile, cruising upstream toward the thunderous Murchison Falls. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a wide range of birdlife, including the rare shoebill stork. Hike to the top of the falls for a panoramic view of the Nile crashing through the gorge.

Day 6: Return Flight to Entebbe

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe, marking the end of an incredible journey through Uganda’s most spectacular wilderness areas.
