4 Days Gorilla-Lake Mburo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi, passing through lush landscapes, rolling hills, and small towns. Enjoy stops along the way to stretch, take photos, and absorb Uganda’s beautiful countryside. Arrive at your forest lodge in the evening, nestled on the edge of the rainforest. Relax, enjoy a hearty dinner, and receive a briefing about the following day’s gorilla trek.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. With experienced guides and rangers, venture deep into the ancient rainforest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once located, you’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour observing these magnificent primates—watching them interact, play, and feed in their natural habitat. After your trek, return to the lodge to relax or enjoy a short village walk to meet the local community.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Evening Game Drive
Depart Bwindi after breakfast and travel to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park but a haven for wildlife. Check into your lodge, then head out for an evening game drive. Expect sightings of zebras, impalas, elands, topis, buffaloes, and even leopards. The park’s open landscapes offer excellent opportunities for photography and birdwatching.
Day 4: Morning Boat Safari and Return
Start your day with a morning boat safari on Lake Mburo, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, African fish eagles, and other waterbirds up close. After the boat cruise, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving by late afternoon with memories of Uganda’s wild beauty.
