2-Day Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda)
Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a short briefing, you’ll embark on a scenic drive southwards to the Cyanika or Katuna border, crossing into Uganda. Enjoy the picturesque views of Rwanda’s “Land of a Thousand Hills” and Uganda’s terraced farmlands. Arrive in Bwindi by late afternoon. Relax at your lodge and prepare for the next day’s trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority guides. Then venture into the thick forest in search of mountain gorilla family. The trek can last 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, but the reward is a magical 1-hour encounter with these gentle giants. After the trek, have lunch and drive back to Kigali, arriving in the evening.
